So, i've been out and about a fair few times ( Girlthing & Velvet Room ) And just a general observation from my times of going out to these clubs. No one ever tends to communitcate or approach each other. Everyone always goes on about the promiscuity of the gay community, and as a lesbian, recently new to the club scene, Im just wondering, does anyone seriously ever pick-up?

I've been wondering the same too! Makes me hesitate about going out because it seems more a big group event for friendship groups haha

i myself, would approach another girl, just i dont want to seem like a creep, because it seems no one else does it, and everyone just stays in their little friend group.

I hardly ever go out clubbing, although I went to the velvet room a couple weeks ago. Is it getting busier? I've found it to be the same as you guys, although when my friend was too busy with her girlfriend I got up and started dancing with a random group. Maybe we just need to get the guts to go up to them? I always worry about seeming like a creep too

Haha exactly the same here! I guess it's because I don't have a queer group to go out with lol.. Maybe we should form a group ourselves: 'the group of people who don't have a group'

Haha that's lucky! I don't have too many straight friends I'd feel comfortable taking out to newtown

And yeah, I've been wanting to go out for a while now actually... I wonder if anybody's up for newtown this/next wednesday?

Tiz very clicky... Very different from Straight clubs. Going up to someone takes guts... Although, on the odd occassion I have had people approach me. But it is hard to talk when the music is so loud. That being said, I did get picked up only the other week --- in the toilet line..... I guess its finding that other like minded person in a sea of people thats the hard bit....

yeah, i'll be with two of my friends.

I haven't really noticed a difference between straight clubs and gay clubs in terms of cliqueyness and picking up and stuff. I've seen heaps of girls pick up/get hit on at gay clubs, even though it hasn't happened to me personally (though I haven't been on the scene for very long).

Never been out in newtown, well only arrive in oz 3 weeks ago, I have straight mates that will out go out to gay clubs with me, but I rather fella lesbians/gay/bi's to join me, if anyone wants to makes plans for next wednesday night or tonight? well not finished work till 10 tonight but still can make it, Let me know

kaz, maybe you haven't noticed a difference because we've been hanging with *cough* tatsuya xDD. 

Whoops, I just realised I have to wake up at 6am on the thursday morning. So I'm out. Something always seems to come up for me on Wednesdays. Have fun.
