HEY Girls,

So i've been DYING to try and find some other SKATERS out there in SYDNEY!

WHY? you may ask.... well..

I'm a longboarder myself and love to cruise the URBAN DEVELOPMENTS of SYDNEY, aka back streets, main streets, underground car parks, PARKS, pretty much EVERYWHERE.

SUMMER IS COMING, and do you know what that mean....SUN,BEACHES, MUSIC FESTIVALS, and most importantly SKATING.

SO I thought It be cool to get a GROUP/COLONY of us skaters ( from the nubes to the pros) to ge together occassionally on the WEEKENDS (SUNDAY is a pretty cool day)  and cruise SYDNEY for all its worth baby!

This doesn't just have to be for sapphic girls either, If you know MATES WHO SKATE .... as they always say THE MORE THE MERRIER!

STILL NEED CONVINCING

CHECK out this AWESOME video!

( I don't own the rights of this video, but man i wish i did though :p)

SO If you have a board thats chllin in your garage, outside in the mud, or nicely tucked away in your room, TAKE IT OUT OF ITS MISERY (check to see if it still have its four wheels) and hit me up . For this to happen i need your awesome ideas. AND don't worry if your no good, the whole point of this is to make friends, have some FUN and get some pointers from the more experienced.

Check out the new Longboarders-Sydney facebook page..

Peace

(post script: apologies for spelling mistakes)

Awesome - I have a longboard, I am kind of selling it, but I am very reluctant because it is really nice.. Maybe I could get some skills if I join this group ?  haha.

Sunday is a killer day though :(  As is Saturday.  So shitty !

I used to skate alllll the time when I was 13/14, and I've been meaning to start again for ages. This seems like the perfect opportunity. :)

I've just got to either find/acquire a board now.

Hi Sas I just joined your longboarding fb group, very cool

I'm keen on learning to carve with my longboard but dont know any skaters to get some good advice. Hope you'll organise something, it'd be awesome :D

yes, please do revive and plan for an outing. i'm just back from holidays, fatter and un-fitter than ever, and i need to do some sort of physical activity, aside from reaching for another chocolate coated cookie.

I have decided to revive this thread for a planned girls skate!

http://www.skateboardracing.org.au/events/secret-women-s-business-car-park-capers-3

Sydney's Maidens of Steeze bring you a friendly WOMENS only event. Dudes please encourage your partners, girlfriends, sisters, mothers to come along

This new location offers a safe environment for absolute beginners as well as a nice run for beginner downhill. We'll also set up some cones for those who want to practice carving or slalom. And for those who are really keen we'll have a few fun races at the end of the day

If you have a board and helmet bring it along, but if not we'll have a bunch for you to try out.

Don't worry if you've never skated before, this event is a chance to learn the basics from Sydney's best female longboarders!

And heres a video of the first girls skate event!

Just a heads up for those of you who don't know, there's a group on fb called 'Chicks Out'. Some of you might be interested in joining that, I know there were a few people interested in getting together for a surf/skate along with other outdoorsy stuff :)
