I hope the weather warms up soon just starting a thread to measure interest in a picnic/meet and greet.

Would love to know:

1. Dates - Which weekend suits you? Saturday or Sunday? Date?

2. Location - Suggestions and preferences

3. Food allergies if any

i was looking at perhaps the last weekend of October since a couple of girls seem to be already doing the chicks with picks on 11 Oct. Alternatively we could push this to November, when exams are over?

my current love is rushcutters park, but of course if up for an adventure cockatoo island would be FAB!

Cockatoo Island would really be great: The William Kentridge installation is on until March next year, well worth the trip over.

I am pretty busy with exams and essays for most of Oct, and then I head OS in Nov :( oh I mean :)

But the weekend of the 31/1st might be a good one for most, Uni wise? And as long as we picnic in a circle ;) And from my picnic experience today, As long as there is no WILD WINDS!

That island was bloody amazing for the biennale i must have ferried over 5 times.

But also they have shelters, loos, pits quite a well organised place which is good for washing up after an arvo of finger food. Am not familiar but all open to other places with such considerations.

Yeah 1st week of Nov is no good for me so... last week of OCT sounds sunny

Yeah, Cockatoo has it all. Another good option would be to head out to Sculpture by the Sea, a good day out; not that I am trying to push an art based agenda here, but it happens to be on around that time- sun, surf, sculpture and sircular picnics :)

I like both suggestions, I really want to go see sculpture by the sea this year, I've missed it every other year.

But cockatoo island has the views and it's pretty cool to go to an island in the middle of the harbour for a picnic.

Weekend of the 31/1 is really good for me :) Or later in Nov works too, we already have Girls with Picks (11th) and Girl Thing (17th) in Oct, so might be an idea to push it through to Nov? (Although I'm busy both the weekend of the 7th and the weekend of the 14th). Ooo if we do have it on the 31st we could make it halloween-y and make green cupcakes and pumpkin shaped biscuits.

Will post directions later on, so it seems we have 4 down for the 31st  Oct weekend. Tentatively we will be  meeting up at circular quay before ferrying out to cockatoo

Just to start off, there are a couple of options for ferry tickets apart from the standard return tickets:

Works like a travel ten - http://www.sydneyferries.info/tickets-fares/ferryten.htm

DayTripper ticket gives you unlimitedtravel on all regular Ferries, Buses and CityRailservices within the Sydney suburban area - http://www.sydneyferries.info/tickets-fares/daytripper.htm

Head count is 10 so far!

Ferry ride is about 15 mins. Have also included a jpeg invite for those who might want to email this around to their girl friends.
